See You Tonight b/w Color Me Impressed / Mystery - Brother Brick

Label:Bang Records
Released:2000
Rating:4.5/5

Despite being recorded almost two years ago, this is the first new material from Sydney’s Brother Brick since last years A Portable Altamont album. Based around a simple yet catchy riff, See You Tonight is one the best songs I’ve heard all year. This is honest, melodic and loud rock and roll the way it should be played. Some strong backing vocals, courtesy of Bill Gibson, really help strengthen the song, as does the typically powerful lead guitar of Stewart ‘Leadfinger’ Cunningham. The two songs on the B-side, Color Me Impressed and Mystery, find the Brick paying homage to two of their heroes, The Replacements and The Wipers, in style. Whilst the mix could have been a little clearer and the cover artwork less garish, this is one explosive record.
