Rating: 2.5/5

Ladies & Gentlemen is the 3 Orange Whip's debut release after bursting onto the Perth music scene approximately two and a half years ago. The songs are uniformly strong but are let down by a poor recording, with lead singer Dan Durack's voice mixed too high while the guitars lack any real power. Still, it is not all bad as evidenced by the last (and best) two tracks, French Movie and Fuck The Salad. As shown in these two songs, the 3 Orange Whips are able to play both melodic and full on punk rock. Guitarist James MacDonald is especially impressive on the latter track as he lets go with his wah-wah pedal in a way that would make even Ron Asheton jealous. I'm sure 3 Orange Whips would have learnt a lot recording this CD, which has been an important tool in increasing their profile here in Perth. While it is not going to blow anyone's mind, I suspect that we can expect a lot of big things from this band in the future.
