Robin Gurland of Lucasfilm is in charge of all the casting decisions for the Prequel Trilogy. According to an anonymous source, this is what Robin has been told to look for in the older version of Anakin Skywalker that will appear in Ep 2 or 3:

"George has told Robin that he wants the actors that play the various roles to be those who were born to play their role. The fit has to seem perfectly natural. The Anakin that appears in Ep 2 and 3 will be about 20 to 22 years old. He will roughly be the same age as Luke Skywalker in A New Hope. The actor that plays older Anakin will have to be handsome, charismatic, a little cocky and over 6 feet tall. George would like to find an unknown for this role. A large casting call will be conducted to find the perfect actor to play Anakin. George has not ruled out the possibility of using an actor that has already appeared in several major motion pictures. However, actors such as Leonardo DeCaprio are not in the running for this role. If an established actor is chosen for this role, it will have to be someone who is a relative unknown to the general public similar to Ewan McGregor (who will appear as Obi-Wan Kenobi in all three prequel films). It will be interesting to see what Luke and Leia's father looked like when he was in his prime before his fall to the dark side." (Source: Anonymous Lucasfilm Informant)
