This is an effort to make the speech of oldtimer P*ers translatable.

P* - Prodigy Classic

Event host

Chat host


Chat bot - An invisible demon who's mission is to catch people swearing,
cheating, scrolling and otherwise breaking the sacred rules of P*.  It
had the power to suspend.

System Greeter - Easily fooled and impersonated, this chattie notifies
anyone in the room of an enterence or exit.

Chatties - A term for the above four.  Sometimes used with affection, more
often with annoyance.

Alert - A button to summon a bot or host.

Revolving doors -  Frying a system greeter's brains by going in and out
of the room.

Punt/kick - Forcibly made to leave the 'net by the power of demons.

Hugz - A special hug (: also the title of a chat program which had macros
that printed out symbol hugs (ie ????)

Hugz2 - Another hug program.  This one, if I remember correctly, also had
macros for writing huge letters out of boxes as well as turning text
backwards.

((((INSERT NAME HERE))))  - A hug.

{{{{INSERT NAME}}}}  -Same as above.

Code - Something like alt + 168 which produces a symbol ie ¿  Some days
were turned into quests for the shortest codes and most interesting symbols.

- DEMONS -

Punt -  The demon which punts people :p

Typo -  The demon which trips words into strange things.

BURN P*! - The curse used against punt and typo demons.

Scroll war - All participants type and enter as fast as they can to see
who gets punted first, they can go on for long periods of time and would
even end in a tie on occasion.

Wav war - The same but with wav files.

MM fight - MM is marshmellow not M&M :p  Basically the name for any food 
fight.

{s namehere} - The summoning of a wav.

IMz - The instant message zone.

The attic - Basically IMz but specifically the term is used if one is 
teasing two people about chatting up there and being oblivious to whatever
is going on in the room.

FOD2 - Futon of doom.  Often sighted in DEC.  Anyone sitting on it tends
to disapear into the attic.

EQ - Elfquest, the room in Sci-fi/Fantasy section where I learned this
strange lingo.  It had a lake ::nodnod::Also, Elfquest is a comic..but er
I think the only one that actually read the comic was Redlance0.

DEC - David Eddings club, also in the Sci-fi/Fantasy section.  There was
a lot more talking than RPing that went on in here, but still a fun place
full equiped with a pool which was maintained by Kill'a'sh'andra whose
apostrophes I can never get right.  This pool was only once filled with water
on the historic day of a reunion.  

brb, afk, ibb are used all around the 'net but just in case... brb is
be right back, afk is away from keyboard, ibb is I'll be back, bbs is
be back soon.  Bak is back at keyboard.

Trivia - A chat game with a host who'll ask a question and people are given
points for responding the fastest.  IMing people playing trivia is a fun
way to annoy them because it screws with their response time ;)

cyber - short for cybers*x (and if you have to ask what *that* is...! >.< )

cyberfreak - Basically a derogatorry name for a newbie who either speaks
in letters without punctuation ("hw r u") or someone who goes around
asking is people want to cyber.  They were frequently found in a disgusting
mass in the Teen rooms, a VERY disturbing place to be.

aoh*ll - The word for the over-populated cyberfreak filled land that
some people were sucked to through the evil of parents, etc. aka aol.

RL - real life also called Otherland.

RT - Realtime

RP - roleplay

OL - online (not offline <g>)

UL - upload

DL - download

MI - Member Info.  Prodigy gave a small SMALL space (like, 30 characters 
long I believe) to be used like the aoh*ll personal info.  So if you click 
someone's MI button it'll show their NN, about a 10 char space for location, 
and then whatever was put into the 30 char space)

<s> - smile
<c> - chuckle
<koc> - kiss on cheek
<VBG> - very big grin
<eg> - evil grin
<VEG> - very evil grin
<f> - frown
<p> - pout
lol - used everywhere, laughing out loud
ROFL - rolling on the floor laughing, common to the net
Gz - Geez
