They then use this energy source to power a weapon designed to destroy worlds called 'Deus'. However once creating Deus they decide it's too dangerous and build a massive spacecraft, the Elderage to take it and Zohar powering it away. In the meantime... The 'Wave Existance', somekind of conscious entity from a higher dimension that embodies supreme oneness with the universe, and thus could loosly be considered 'God'), becomes somehow "trapped" within Zohar and is thus inexplicably bound to Deus. Okay, with me so far? Cut to the spacecraft above a distant planet. Suddenly, Deus awakens and attacks the ship trying to do the same thing to the Elderage that it was designed to do to planets on a larger scale. It takes over the piloting system an resets course for "The Main Planet". Deus wants to go home. The captian realizing this sets the ship for self destruct but not after Deus proclaims to him... You to shall be as Gods. This is Deus' declaration that this is far from over and that his and the ship's eventual fate will spawn a cycle of death and rebirth that will last millenia until he can finally return home. Essentially, he's saying "This ain't over yet. I'll still use you to get back home; it'll just take longer." Meanwhile... Cut to the Zohar generator in the bowels of the ship. A boy apparently having lost his mother wanders too close to the Zohar generator and encounters the Wave Existance within. Making "contact" with the Wave Existance his basic desire for the love of his mother is amplified and channeled by the Wave Existance into the Zohar generator where it is given shape in the form of a woman embodying total love and compassion. At the same time Deus, already putting his insurance policy into effect, creates another embodiment in the same form. He essentially finishes the job that the Wave Existance had begun by creating the other half of the manefestation of the lonly boy's mother to embody 'his' qualities. Thus the Mother, embodying the natures of both the Wave Existance and Deus, was born. Still with me? The ship crashes. The Mother survives. Deus' plan was for the Mother to spawn a race of humans that would propagate until there was enough raw material to create his body again and he could leave the planet. Miang, the half of the Mother that Deus created, was to give birth to the first humans (Cain and the Gazel Ministery) and then live on in different bodies through the ages to oversee the progress of the plan. However, the Wave Existance had other plans. Desiring to be free from Deus and the Zohar generator it had a little insurance policy of it's own. The Mother no doubt gave birth to two additional humans... Abel(Fei) and Elly, that Deus had not planned on. These came from the half of the Mother that was the manefestation of love and will that was created by the boy on the ship. If Miang, Cain, and the Gazel Ministry are in effect Deus keeping it self alive, then Fei and Elly is the Wave Existance doing the same. They were to live through out the ages as one entity of love and strength that would one day free it from Deus. Thus from the two halves of the Mother came the two opposing sides of the epic struggle that would unfold over the course of the next 10,000 years. This is undoubtedly why Cain was chasing Abel and Elly in the flashback. Deus was trying circumvent the Wave Existance's insurance policy, and this is also why throughout the ages Miang and the Gazel Ministery was so obsessed with destroying the Antitype(Elly) and keeping her away from the Type(Fei) that was the Contact with the Wave Existance. Is this all making sense? Let's continue. This is the pattern that goes on for 9,500 years. The reoccuring tragity. From Abel to Kim to finally Lacan. This is where Deus' plan took a drastic turn. Up until then everything was going as planned. Miang, Gazel, and Cain ran Solaris as a front for Deus' ultimate goal of reunification. This all changed with "The Tragity in Nisan" The Wave Existance's latest incanation, Sophia and Lacan, were friends with Krelian. Upon Sophia's inevitable death Krelian was so effected that he lost his faith in a higher power and decided to "create God with his bare hands." Lacan, likewise is affected similarly, and decided to seek out the ultimate source of power. Now, this is where it gets interesting. Krelian, obsessed with creating an ultimate purpose for himself, eventually learned of Cain, the Gazel Ministry, and Deus. In essence, he found God, and he realized that he could in fact create God with his bare hands. From this time forward he worked closely with Miang in assisting the ressurrection of Deus. Cain and the Gazel Ministry were less important to him because they were really secondary to Miang (after all she was the original mother anyway) which is why he was able to exploit them and dispose of them later. In essess they were trying to ressurrect Deus for Deus... he was trying to ressurrect Deus for himself. Lacan, in the meantime, found the source of ultimate power (the place where the Zohar generate had crashed) and gained enormous power from it. In this he learned of his fate as the Contact the the reocurring tragity of his doomed love and decided to destroy the world and Deus to break the cycle. During this time his body died and his peronality split, allowing the Contact to continue to be reincarnated while the hatred that was left became Grahf. Whew! Still there? Almost done. For the next 500 years Krelian studies nanotechnology in an attempt to speed up Deus' revival and numerous experiments are born out of this. One is Ramsus, an artificial Contact. It is not very clear what Krelian originally intended him for, but when the real Contact, Fei, is born again he decides to keep him around as a tool to eventually kill Cain for him. Meanwhile Elly, the corresponding Anti-type is born again as well. Miang, happening at this time to inhabit the body of Fei's mother, takes Fei to Krelian and conducts tests on him to confirm his power as a threat to Deus. The trauma caused by these horrible tests causes a dissociative split in Fei resulting in seperate manifestations of his id(Id), ego(normal Fei), and Superego(The Coward). About this time Grahf, who himself is a pure manifestation of the "Id" of the Contact from a previous life, approaches Fei so that he can finally join back with his original body and person. This causes a drastic reaction of uncontrolable power in young Fei, killing Miang in the process. At the last moment, however, Fei's original mother reclaimed he body to sacrifice herself for her son. The abundant love of the mother repeating itself in some small way. Kahn takes his son to protect him from Grahf, but eventually Grahf catches up with him and Fei loses his memory after Kahn and Grahf fight. Grahf takes over Kahn's body but can't control it completely with Kahn sometimes emerging as Wiseman. As Wiseman he saves his son by taking him to Lahan to live. Grahf lets him stay there for the time being in order for him to grow in strength and power. Cut to Solaris. Cain, aware of the existance and location of the new Contact, tells Citan to go keep an eye on him and report back to him whether he feels he is a threat to him or not. Apparently, Cain is finally questioning his pact to Deus after 10,000 years and wants to at least avoid unnecessary bloodshed. Flashforward 3 years. Grahf figures it's about time for Fei to come out of his shell and cooperates with Gebler to provide a catalyst for him. Lahan is destroyed as a result, and Fei and Citan take off on a journey. Meanwhile Krelian and Miang are hoping that Fei while eventually lead them to the Anti-type because they need her to combine back into one with Miang and become the Mother again for Deus' ultimate ressurrection. In the meantime Grahf pursues them encouraging Fei to fight along the way in order to get him to the state he desires to take his body back. Meanwhile, the Gazel Ministry sensing the time is near prepares to use The Key that will begin the transformation of humans back into the body of Deus for his final ressurraction. Upon reaching Solaris Citan coaxes Fei to become Id in a controlled situation so he can identify if he is a threat. He has faith in Fei and concludes he's not, and that Id can be controlled. Citan tells Cain and Cain, having ultimatly sided with humanity, prevents the Gazel from using the Key. Krelian, of course, cannot allow this to happen and has Ramsus assassinate Cain. The Gazel uses the Key, and all hell breaks loose. Krelian then erases the Gazel having no more use for them and sets his sights on aquiring Elly(who he found out was the Anti-type while he captured her briefly on Solaris) as the final ingredient for the ressurrection. After Fei and Elly escape Solaris, they realize their love for eachother and begin to remember who they are. Elly slips into the role of Sophia (or, more appropriatly, the Wave Existances' manifestation of ultimate love and compassion inspired by the original Contact's need for his mother) as a great spiritual leader and healer while Fei continues to grapple with his own dissociative disorder. In the meantime the collection of the final Anima Relics brings about the discovery of the wreckage of the Elderage from 10,000 years before. Inside Fei and Citan discover the super computer that contains all the information about Deus and Zohar. Krelian shows up and captures them to use as bait to lure Elly out. His plan works and Elly is captured and taken to Krelian's 'Ark' along with Miang for the final ressurrection. When Fei and co finally catch up with them, Miang, killed by Ramsus, takes over Elly thus completing the Mother and instigating the final ressurrection causing a significant portion of humanity to begin to be absorbed into what will become Deus' body. Fei is distrought by this and eventually ends up at Zohar as Id. However, Wiseman shows up and reveals to Fei that he is Kahn, his father, and what really happened to him as a child. This allows Fei to conquer his discociation during which he is contacted by the Wave Existance who explains to him everything. Soon after Grahf and Kahn are taken into Deus. Whew! Just hang in there. Fei and co plan for a final attack on the newly forming Deus in Krelian's Ark. Bart and Citan's idea to break through its defenses proves more than they barganed for when they inadvertantly trigger the formation of Deus' final body on the face of the planet. Fei and co defeat the Deus core, the Wave Existance is freed and begins to leave the planet. Fei pursues it into the outer atmosphere to rescue Elly where he enters the Wave Existance and meets Krelian. Krelian expresses his scorn for humanity and desire to become one with God. Fei then encounters Elly and the Wave Existance begins to disappear. They and Krelian speak once more as he explains his really feelings on the matter. He wants to become one with the Wave Existance by following it back to where it originally came from, the eternal oneness of 'God'. He feels this is the only way he can atone for the sins he commited over the years trying to reach his goal. As a final statement he expresses envy for Fei and Elly as they were able to find this oneness within eachother. Krelian spreads his wings and joins God, and Fei and Elly return to the planet where they are met by Citan and their friends. The cycle is broken. The end. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, folks how was that? Tell me if you think I was wrong anywhere. Granted I guess on a few things, like exactly what time the original contact was made and such, but I think this way it all makes sense. The only thing I left out was the whole imprtance of the Anima Relics and their connection to Deus' plan. I think they were the insurance policy to recreate Zohar as a power source for Deus at the time of his ressurrection. When all the Anima Relics are gathered Elderage rises, which apparently needs to happen for Deus to be reborn. I didn't quite understand that. Maybe I'm missing something, but anyway, I think I got most everything. -Sajon Name: Jester Date/Time: January 1, 1999 at 20:42:29 IP Address: 207.34.74.147 via proxy 206.75.40.49 (proxy.connect.ab.ca) Browser: Netscape Navigator V2.02 using Windows 95 Subject: WOW! Close, but ya messed on one little thing... Spoiler Tag: Mini-Spoiler - The originality of Id, The Coward, and 'Fei' Message: It ain't much, just that you said "Miang, happening at this time to inhabit the body of Fei's mother, takes Fei to Krelian and conducts tests on him to confirm his power as a threat to Deus. The trauma caused by these horrible tests causes a dissociative split in Fei resulting in seperate manifestations of his id(Id), ego(normal Fei), and Superego(The Coward)." Which is inncorrect, durring those experiments nothing hppened to Feis personalities, but when his psychokinetic backlash kills his mother, Fei refuses to beleiver he killed his mother so he splits into 'Id' and 'The Coward' ONLY. Then he joins with Grahf(who has taken his fathers body) as the assassin Id, Kahn awakens in Grahf years later as Wiseman, unable to face his son, he surpresses the Id personallity, to save Fei, but the only other personlaity was the Coward, and he WAS NOT going to take controll 'go on stage' if you will, but since the the stage needs to be filled his mind created a third personality, the Fei we know to take the stage and live on . See? it had nothing to do with the game's major story, but I feel the dude should get the whole story. Spoiler Tag: Game Spoiler Message: I just played that sequence a few days ago, and it did say that Fei's personality separated when his mother did those experiments on him. Little Fei (The Coward) couldn't take all the pain and suffering, so he pushed it all deep inside of him, and created another persona that bore all this torture for him (Id). I guess Id just took over when Grahf came to take his body, so he killed his mother that way. Spoiler Tag: Story Spoiler Message: Fei, when coming to the reckage of the end of the anime intro, mentioned that he remembers all of his past lives, and that at the contact that he was the only surviver of crash of Eldrige. So, he wasn't born after cain and the others. Also, I don't think that Elly was either. It said that Mother just split into Maing and Elly. Or they could have both been born at the same time, and the Original Mother died. It looks almost like you can see her in that machine. Also, it looks like that the Tower of Babil was once the front end of the Edridge. In the anime intro, for a second or so, you can see inside of it, where "05" on a window is displayed, then closes quickly. If you look inside, it looks like the town section of the tower. That would also explain why when you climb the tower, you stand on all the buildings sideways, and citan, when operating the mirror is standing on the panels. With the bridge remaining intact, and computers still operational, from the explosion and impact, the rest of the ship could have too.
