News-Slash-Rumours

Hairshirt Productions is working on many upcoming concerts. Criags Brother with Thee Pirates are confirmed for Friday January 2, 1999. Havalina Rail Co. is confirmed for January 22, 1999. Puller is confirmed for Tuesday February 2, 1999 at the Starfish Room. Hairshirt is also talking to Starflyer 59, Pedro the Lion (and maybe even Damien Jurado), and Joy Electric for sometime in the Spring. Also possibilities are Velour 100, House of Wires, and Pep Squad for the near future. Hairshirt is also looking into the possibility of starting a Christian alternative rock radio program in Vancouver (dont worry, it wont be like the Power Jam), and Hairshirt has launched its management operation. For information on Hairshirt Productions, call Jordan at (604) 271-9065, visit the supersite at www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Underground/1863 or email at hairshirt19@hotmail.com. By the way, The Translator is a Hairshirt Production as well.

Speaking of Puller (who will be in Vancouver in February), they will be releasing their live performance from Tomfest on Tooth and Nail Records. The album will be called Oh Canada, after their Canadian friends. Read the Puller interview in this magazine to find out how much Puller likes Canada.

Clearwater B.C.s own emo rockers Phaedo were signed to Velvet Blue Music at this years Tomfest. Terms of the deal are not yet certain as far as I know, but they will record in late December with Bob Moon (MxPx, Starflyer 59 and other Tooth and Nail acts). Expect Phaedo to open some upcoming Hairshirt concert dates. To contact Phaedo, call (250) 674-2510, or email Luke Coleman at colemans@mail.wellsgray.net.

From the creators of Hairshirt Productions (and all its projects) comes two new bands. The first is called Zack Morris Rock. Zack Morris Rock is a tribute band to the legendary T.V. seiries Saved By The Bell. Zack will be huge in no time, so watch out. The other band is a serious project. So far, this band is a little less developed, but it will be kinda dark and kinda emo, I think.

Through And Through is launching its cross Canada tour and are set to play Vancouver somewhere around November 15th. They will break up shortly there after playing a farewell show with Phaedo probably in Prince George on November 22nd (Sniff!). They will be dearly missed.

Thee Pirates are finally set to record a full length CD on Ingsoc Recordings. Its about time. Thee Pirates new CD will be due out in February. They will also be doing a Stiff Little Fingers tribute 7".

Starflyer 59 has recorded a new EP (after just releasing The Fashion Focus) due out some time in the far future. Starflyer will also be coming to Vancouver one day soon, so keep in contact with Hairshirt Productions about that show.
