Scott Orfino's Parts Chopper

Scott Orfino of Milford, Connecticut built this ride. Scott is no longer with us in this world, but his legacy lives on. His good bud Chris sent these pics to me to share with you and to honor his memory. Scott lost his battle with cancer, but won the right to be very proud of his accomplishments, including creating this masterpiece.

In many cases I find it best to let the person who submitted the pics describe them, and do so in the following, a description written by Chris:
He built this chopper from mostly swap meet and classified ad components as well as hand made stuff. He bought as little as possible so it would be unique. It's a wishbone rigid that he rode to Laconia and back 3 years in a row besides a ride to NYC and back. A definite old school bike. He let a little air out of the back tire and said the ride was alright. He did everything himself, this guy was mechanically gifted. Never afraid to take something apart and see how it worked. When he put it back together everything worked. I wish I had pictures of the left side so you could see the open belt drive and jockey shift. It really ads to the look.

* Wishbone rigid frame w/40 degree rake and 2" stretch
* Back bone bumped up to clear the Evo
* Softail Evo with aftermarket kick only 4 spd
* Magneto power- no battery or charging system
* Extended Springer forks

* Hand laid fiberglass seat with Corvette seat foam and upholstered with a $5 leather mini skirt from the Salvation Army Store. Seat mounted on Corvette leaf spring for some flex

* Foot clutch with jockey shift and lawnmower piston for shift knob
* Mikuni carb-before they were the in-thing
* Japanese front brake lever and master cylinder from swap meet

* Swap meet pipes, no baffles, hand rubbed with Scotchbrite pads for a low-key, kind of stainless look
* Open belt drive

* Hand bent handle bars from pipe with a mini-bike internal throttle
* Foot pegs are BMX bicycle pegs with home made mounts
