Powell Valley 21 Lebanon 0

Powell Valley traveled to Lebanon and came away with win #34 in a row, but it wasn't easy as the Vikings came away with a hard earned 21-6 win. The Vikings scored first as they took off on a 94 yard drive that ended when tackle Doug Gibson snatched a Derrick Clark fumble out of mid-air and raced 37 yards to the end zone for a 7-0 lead as JT Wells added the PAT. Lebanon cut the lead to 7-6 when Joey Crabtree bulled over from 9 yards away after a big 29 yard pass on 3rd and long kept the drive alive. That drive would be the last Pioneer scoring threat though as the PV defense shut them down after that. The 2nd and 3rd quarters were scoreless, but it was evident the Pioneers were wearing down, and in the 4th quarter PV controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Clark capped a drive as he bulldozed in from 12 yards out to make it 14-6. After a Scott Williams interception return was nullified by a penalty, the Vikings got the ball back and Wells hit Travis Maddux on a 2 yard TD pass to make it a 21-6 game. Lebanon's final shot ended when LB Michael Stacy picked up a fumble and returned it to the Pioneer 1 yard line, where PV killed the clock by taking a knee to end the game. Josh Callahan led the Vikings with 161 yards on the ground while Clark added 71. PV moves to 6-0 on the year and will travel to J.J.Kelly next week.
