LG-EDS Systems has embarked upon an extremely relevant and important process maturity enhancement program using the framework of the Capability Maturity Model, Version 1.1 (CMM) as basis. Between September 18~21, 1996 the QM Team had a training session on the following topics provided by software engineering experts from LG Software Development Centre (India).
1. Understanding the Capability Maturity Model
2. Software Testing Techniques
3. Overview of Software Project Management
4. Software Quality and Its Measurement
5. Management of Quality
6. Impact of Standards
This training initiative was named "Senior Management Commitment & QM Team Orientation Program". The primary goal was to establish a common understanding of the Capability Maturity Model within LG-EDS Systems and draw up a detailed implementation plan for LG-EDS Systems to manage for higher maturity.
In the second phase (Jan 1997~Sep 1997), all the necessary process infrastructure will be put in place and the software process improvement initiative will be monitored continuously.
Process support to LG-EDS Systems in the 2nd phase is made up of links to appropriate documents which can be placed in the public domain without
jeopardizing "confidentiality".
