Magic Knight Rayearth links

In Magic Knight Rayearth, three girls, Hikaru, Umi and Fuu, who were visiting Tokyo Tower were brought to the world of Cephiro by Princess Emeraude. When they get there, Master Clef tells them that Princess Emeraude has been captured by the Priest Zagato. Princess Emeraude was the pillar of Cephiro. This means that she prayed for the planet and kept it healthy using her magic. Once she is captured the planet will start to fall apart. Master Clef gets turned into stone and the three girls are left to save Cephiro.

These girls must find the legendary mineral Escudo to make weapons, and then revive three legendary Mashin. (Which just happen to be gigantic robots.) along the way they meet up with Zagato's minions like the Sorceress Alcyone, Summoner Ascot, and Caldina Master of Illusion. As Hikaru ,Umi, and Fuu mature, their armor and weapons mature with them.

Hikaru is an eight grader like Umi and Fuu, and yet is so completely and totally full of energy. She has three older brothers, so it's no surprise she's tough. Umi comes from a rich family and attends private school, she often throws temper tantrums. Fuu is an intelligent girl who also attends a private school. She meets Hikaru when Hikaru tries to thank her for lending her a quarter to look out of a telescope from the top of Tokyo Tower. She is also very polite.
