Personal Knowledge Of Timothy G. Vance Obituary in The Richlands News Press dated Wednesday November 28, 2001 Obituary Follows: Mary E. Lester Mary Ellen Lester, 86, of Doran, died Nov. 24 at a Richlands Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born in Tazewell County, she was a daughter of the late Chap Lowe and Pearle Mae Lowe Asbury, both Tazewell County natives. She was of the Holiness faith and attended the Tabernacle of Faith in Avondale, WV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Charlie Lester; one brother, James Lowe; several stepsisters and stepbrothers; and one grandson, David Lester. Survivors: daughters, Helen Lester Cordle and Bernice Lester Blankenship, both of Doran; sons, Junior Lester of Rt. 1 Swords Creek, Paul Lester of Council, Chester Lester of King, N.C; sisters, Cordie Asbury Lester and Dorothy Mulkey Lester, both of Cedar Bluff; 23 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and a special nurse, Shelia Hibbitts. The funeral was conducted Nov. 27 at 1 p.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands with Rev. Ralph Horton Officiating. Interment followed in the Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands.
