Joining this years graplers were 2 members of the 97 squad . Shawn Oakman and Jeff Lorch both talking about how much harder things were when they were on the team. I hate to hear how hard it was when these old timers tell it to their grand kids.
The Senior table claimed domination in wings consumed though Jrs.Cruz and Fawk almost keep up my themselves. Freshman David Mason was seen walking away from the table claiming to now be a legit 3 pounder. Good Luck making weight Tuesday guys.
David Mason looked tired in his match against state ranked Blair Branch David was giving up 11 pounds and it showed.He did managed a rev and takedown before being cought in the third. Mike Geisert look very sharp on his feet and scored and easy pin as did Jimmy Duvall, Nathon Lovelace and Scott Fawk. The big guy seems to be getting it together. Eric Scott and Frank Cruz lost battles to very good opp. Cruz lost 6-3 to last years Regional Champ while Eric missed victory by only 1 point.

Mat Skelly increased his unbeaten string to 8 with a easy pin bringing his pin total to 7
Grisert, Tuberosa and Schoot each lost tough matches to bring the score to 12-9. After an quick take down Jimmy Duval had trouble solving the Hughes puzzel untill late in the third period and run out of time for the pin. Then Jeff Lorch scored an 8-0 shut out to bring the match score to 19-9
A game Travis Cochran managed to make it to the 2nd period against Jake the Snake Leneger. Erich Scott and Joe Harless each scored major Dec. for the bulls with Joe wrestling one of his best matches to date.
In the best match of the evening Dave Maynor and Garis battled head to head for a 1-1 tie then with 10 sec. left in the match Garis Scored a takedown to win it 3-1.Frank Cruz lost for only te 2nd time this season. Nathon Lovelace won by Fall and Scott Fawk looking the best he has all year scored an upset dec. to wrap things up. (see results page for box score)
In their first match the team walked through a young Lakeland squad who as always was very physical.The upper middle matches were very close. With Cruz and Maynor pulling off last second wins and Scott and Harless loosing Heartbreakers in OT.
The Second match was not so easy as a very tough East Lake (ranked 4th in state) squad pushed the bulls to the limit. The Bulls won the first 5 matches and jumped off to a 29-0 lead. East Lake then won the next 5 to close the gap to 29-24. Maynor, Cruz and Lovelace then assured the victory with three straight wins for the bulls. Cruz wrestled the best match of his young career beating a very good Beamer 7 to 6.
The stage was set for the Championship match with Mantee. No one could forget last years matchup in which the bulls Jumped of to a 32-0 lead only to see Mantee come back and tie the match sending the Bulls home in third place. All were determined not to let that happen again. Mason and Geisert started it off with Major decs. over tough opponets. Tuberosa added a pin. Schott Beat 5th ranked Garnet for the second time this year leading one to wonder when his ranking will be moved up. Duvall then got revenge for his lose at the Mita and scored a 1 point dec. over nLukans In a big win rookie Cochran pined as did Mendoza. after winning the first 7 matches the lead look good. Then the Canes started to move winning the next three. Shades of last year started to surface. Maynor the only undefeated middle or upper weight quickly put them to rest with a 1 point victory to seal the win. Heavy weight Fawk put the icing on the cake
