That's right the Mighty Ducks. The junior ice hockey team who starts out as a bunch of losers (District Five) until Emilio Estevez (as Gordon Bombay) get community service and has to coach them. (I do have a point and I will get there eventually). Well as expected in any Disney movie about the underdog gets to the play -offs and beats Bombay's old team the Hawks.
In the second movie The Ducks get some new members and are playing in the Junior Goodwill Games against teams from around the globe. And again, they get to the play offs and play against the "big and brutal" Iceland team. (Now I get to the point). Number nine for the Iceland team, Gunner Stahl is played by Scott Whyte. OK so he plays a complete bastard, but with Wolf Stannson as his coach, it's not all his fault. (If you're sitting in front of the computer going "Ducks? Wolf Stannson? What does this have to do with anything?" you may as well leave).
After watching D2 around 1000 times (slight exaggeration) in order to look at the luscious Scott as
the Ducks number one enemy (after themselves), by the time Ducks Three (in which the Ducks get
Scholarships to a new school and have to put up with your typical B.S. from P.O'd board members
and members of the Varsity team) came out I was hooked. I missed it at the cinemas and when I
saw it at a friends place about three minutes after it came out on video (another slight exaggeration)
I was delighted to see this (link to Portman stripping) and this ( link to pic of Scooter). Unfortunately
it wasn't until around the 18th viewing (and quite a few bucks in rental fees) that I realised that the
goalie from the Varsity team with a thing for the Ducks goalie (Julie, not Goldberg!) was also played
by Scott.
Don't be surprised if you missed it cause in D2, Scott has shoulder length blonde hair and pretty
crappy Iceland accent, whereas in D3 he has short brown hair and no accent. Plus in both movies
you rarely see him with out a helmet on.
