Primal poet, woman of the world. Elegant goddess, a child-like girl. Satisfied hunger of riches so deep. The rising of dawn, falling asleep. A watchful eye caressing the land. Spiritual teardrops fall from your hands. Light-filled souls, ageless and bare, Searching the darkness for someone to care. A realm of laughter to fill up the sky. The way to freedom is held in your eye. Travel so blindly, you must find your way. Elope in the sadness before night turns to day. (c) Amber Bassett
Amber was a student at St. Helens District Highschool when the above poem was entered in the "Afterglow" competition. She was 16 years old at the time of writing.
