Starving Writer strikes again! (2)

Posted by Starving Writer on April 01, 1997 at 03:33:50 PST

Okay, let me say this off the beat. Liefeld sucks! He bastardized the character of Captain America! I'm glad he got his little a$$ booted off this title.

Now, let me see if I can get Mark Waid to come on this board...

Cap's blood. (3)

Posted by Nick Favorito on April 01, 1997 at 05:32:57 PST

After the Streets of Poisin story line Cap got a blood transfussion, correct. My question is, what did they do with the blood? Why i ask this is, as a recreational writer it makes for some fun story ideas.
"Who is that new evil villian."
"Hah, captain america, i have your
strength, skill, and I HAVE YOUR BLOOD!!!"
See what i mean?

I love this I have some inside tips here(Spoilers) (4)

Posted by Venom on April 01, 1997 at 06:34:23 PST

Following the end of the three parter flash back, Bucky will get a solo shot, aparently against the Red Skull or Baron Zemo, but that could be wrong considering what has happened with Rob. In the issue before the return expect to see the guy named Glactus and that Cable might be fighting along side the heroes.

OK who likes the NEw Modok, post here.(I proclain a bring back Modok group) (5)

Posted by Venom on April 01, 1997 at 08:37:04 PST

One loved the new Modok last issue, he was life size and was plain evil, just the way I like him. I know Kurt has no plans for him right now, but I like to forge a bring back Modok group, so we can get him back to fighting Iron Man, and Captain America. So who is with me.

Well Cap does have the formula in his blood and he can give to others, but it is more duleted, so the aging effect isn't quite as slowed as the Master Man proved.

Hmmm.

Cap I: Steve Rogers
Cap II: Spirit of '76
Cap III: Jeff Mace (the Patriot)
Cap IV: Steve Rogers II
Cap V: Roscoe
Cap VI: John Walker

I left out some of the other scrubs that tried to be Cap in the Nomad series in #176-183.

Was anyone else completely underwhelmed by Rob Liefeld's CAPTAIN AMERICA? I'm really glad to hear that this will all be over soon, and that Mark Waid and Ron Garney will be returning to the title after HEROES RETURN.
I'm also glad to hear of Liefeld's dismissal and that James Robinson will be taking over the remaining issues of the HEROES REBORN storyline...
Maybe something decent can be salvaged from this story with him writing the remaining issues.
By the way: Who's the new artist taking over CAP? What has he done before?

Captain America Movie update. (37)

Posted by Venom on April 03, 1997 at 09:56:30 PST

The script for Captain America has just been finished and a director has been named(I'll get that A.S.A.P). The movie will be set both in WWII and current America, as Cap and the Red Skull battle it out. You will see Bucky and Fury. The plot, Cap is unfrozen and finds himself confronting a new Nazi party that the Red Skull has created. The costume people who did Batman Forever and Batman and Robin will do the Captain America costumes. The A will be used. I'll bring more as it comes along,.

I thought Rob's Cap America sucked. That's all there is to it. As for the new artist of Cap, until Garney comes back after Heroes Reborn, it's going to be Joe Bennett. He's the current artist of Spider-Man Unlimited and Supreme (I think). He also is doing a few fill-in issues of Amazing Spider-Man (#423, #424, #-1). Personally, I like him, but then again, anybody who replaces Skroce automatically has my eternal gratefulness. :)

Anything from a LMD to a simpler robot to a clone to a sorcerous construct (undoubtedly put there by the Space Phantom) to a plastic-surguried female agent.

Yep, the big "A" is necessary. And man,I'd hate to be Zemo when it's dinner time,he must have track marks like a heroin fiend in other words he'd have to inject his food in order to stay alive and that would just plain suck!! And what if Zemo finds a way to take off his mask? Wouldn't he have a whole bunch of eye crust and smell real bad since he hasn't taken a shower in years? Wouldn't his teeth be as yellow as a yeild sign since he can't brush his teeth under the mask? No wonder he hates Cap so much!!! WHO would really win a battle between these two if it took place in the city and both combatants were prepared even though cap is physically stronger and faster , BATMAN is more cerebral and cunning so I would give the match to BATMAN brains over brawn even though CAPTAIN AMERICA is no dummy.

I'd give the match to Cap m'self! Cap is more experienced since he is more or less 50!! Plus Cap is quite a strategist himself,I mean he did lead the Avengers!! Although the Dark Knight Detective is cunning and is more of a stealthly person than Cap! think it would be a good match!!

removed although Past Pot Pete (now the trapster) found out
an antidote way back when. Too bad Zemo and Pete never
compared notes!! However it can be punctured. Therefore Zemo
could breathe, sneeze, and even eat through a straw. You know
Zemo had an Asgardian Enchantress working for him. You'd think
she could remove it. Zemo really should have sued Cap through
the our present legal system for reckless endangerment, pain and
suffering, disfigurement, etc. etc. I guess it was more fun to hire
an Asgardian Executioner to beat the hell out of him. For that is
the way of honair. That is the way of Batroc the Lepair!!!

I don't know if you people saw that article in a recent issue of Wizard, but they asked this same question and I agree with them. They said that the biggest edge Batman has is his ability to plan ahead for this rumble. he would set up various traps and escapes to fight another day. Well, This is what the Red Skull does every single time they fight and Cap wins anyway. Cap wins in a straight mano-a-mano fight. ...Cap would win, that's just what he does.

I gotta agree with Plaidy here....How can anyone say that Batman is a more cunning fighter than Cap? Batman has a lot of toys that he could use and he may know more fighting styles, but Cap is a soldier who has been training himself and fighting for decades....super soldier serum has slowed his aging somewhat (not including all those years that he had to train in that block of ice....man, that's alot of time to think....*snicker*). Cap is stronger and easily as battle savvy......so nyah, nyah!!!!
