Who remembers Scourge from Gruenwald's run ? Did that USAGENT series ever properly tie up all the storyline or not ? Did we ever find out who the Scourge who claimed to be the Enforcer's brother really was, who shot him or why he gave Cap such a transparent lie as a cover story ? Posted by Tony Stark on September 23, 1997 at 12:58:43 PDT Okay, Cap's middle name is given as Grant, but I could have sworn that during the Stern/byrne run, Cap said he had no middle name. So where did Grant come from? Tony Stark Host = nbre-ras1-cs-22.dial.bright.net (207.58.96.41) |

I could care less what number was on the cover. As long as it's in the MU with Waid and Garney on board, I'm happy. > 2. Sharon Carter, yessssss all the hair too. She was pretty cool, and I'd like to see what's she's been up to. > 3. Cap. firght Red Skull. Take that Johann, you nameless orphan bellboy handpicked by Hitler to inflict terror in the hearts of the Allies. > 4. Cap. fight Thunderbolts by himself and kicks thier butts. Why would they fight? And sure, Cap can kick their butts without breaking a sweat. > 5. The real Buck come back, of course this is the only person in Marvel history that will never come back from the dead. Posted by Giltanis on September 23, 1997 at 18:57:15 PDT Hail Maestro! > I seem to remember there was a crossover where Conan killed Thor! Don't forget conan is a virtual 'superman' who would probably equal cap. Also he is Cimmerian and probably from slightly stronger genetic stock than modern man. Also while cap has fought lots of battles I guarantee Conan has fought lots more (assuming the comics, novels etc all apply). also remember conan regularly defeated opponents the equivalent of modern super-villains without anything more than a trusty broadsword or battle axe. It didn't happen exactly like that... Thor went back in time through a spell of Loki's. The spell robbed Thor of his powers and most of his memory. Thor and Conan fought to a standstill, but eventually teamed up. They went on many crusades together and Thor managed to even see Crom on his mountain. Thor died in a battle with Thoth-Ammon, and Conan grieved when he died. I think this is the What if?? #43 issue you were referring to. --Gil Host = ppp-rolm3-4.opr.oakland.edu (141.210.14.100) |

> Tony Stark Steve Gerber gave Cap the name Grant during his run circa #222-225. (Gerber's origin for Cap was given in #225.) In #247, Stern & Byrne revealed that the Gerber origin was all a false memory that the military had created for Cap. His middle name was not Grant, after all (he had no middle name) and his life growing up was completely different. Stern/Byrne's origin for Cap in #255 replaced the previous (false) Gerber version. Posted by Mike Payne on September 24, 1997 at 00:24:53 PDT To all Shield Slingers, I have a couple of awesome Captain America pieces of art for sale, one By Tom Palmer (his art never looked so good) has Cap battling the Masters of Evil on a Manhattan rooftop $$25US(email for picture) and the other is by the King himself Jack Kirby. This image features a scene like only Kirby can draw, complete with Red Skull in full blazing Kirby-colour $345US. Another Kirby piece has both the Golden age Cap, and Silver Age Cap racing into action on the first pencil lithograph produced. This is a beautiful image which looks like an original Kirby pencil. $145US Mike Host = slper8p21.ozemail.com.au (203.108.224.165) |

> > Cap's shield withstands a direct hit from Galactus!! There's no way he was holding back as he had just been betrayed by the Surfer. Not only that, but the shield is the only thing left after the devistation of the ultimate nullifier. This helps to prove my theory that the shield is nearly indestructable exept for the most cosmic of beings (Beyonder, Infinity Gems, etc). Please notice I said "This HELPS to prove" my theory and that I know facts from the HR universe are scetchy (there's been a debate over Firelord killing Hulk going on for days at the Hulk board) but it was nice to see the shield once again prevail through adversity. I believe it would take something imensely powerful to destroy this icon due to its history so far and that Magneto wouldn't have a chance of damaging it. It's nice to see Jim Lee agrees with me. I say Jim Lee as he was ultimately in charge and that traitorous Loeb only wrote it. Remember when Thanos shattered it with his fist in the Infinity Wars? I wonder if the Surfer being fortified with the nullifier helped retard the effects of Galsctus' assault? > Remember when Thanos shattered it with his fist in the Infinity Wars? I do indeed remember that event. My original point was that the shield has withstood every assault save that of ultimate power; the power of the infinity gems and of the Beyonder. Even Galactus wasn't able to do it. Patriot. Host = blackhole.miti.nb.ca (198.73.125.2) |

As I've said before, I would like to have a Non-Marvel/non-DC board here. That's my preference. But an Iron Man board would be in my Top Five Choices, along with Dr Strange, Daredevil, & (maybe) Arena. Rob
