The Rivieras are a group that has endured over three and a half 
decades of shifting tastes in music to deliver a musical message 
that is as relevant today as it was in 1963.

The Rivieras took the song "California Sun" to No. 2 on the Billboard 
charts in 1964.  "California Sun" most likely would have gone to No. 1 
if it weren't for a virtually unknown British Group who released a 
song called "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and laid siege tho the American
music charts.  "California Sun" did reach No. 1 on the Cashbox Chart 
in the U.S.A., as well as becoming an international phenomenon by 
going to No.1 in Norway, Denmark, Germany and Japan.  The band also 
went on to produce four other top 40 hits in 1964 and 1965: "Let's 
Have a Party," "Rockin' Robin," "Let's Go to Hawaii," and "Somebody
New."  The released two albums, including 1964's "Let's Have a Party"
and 1965's Campus Party.

"California Sun" can still be heard on radio stations coast-to-coast, 
and remains the quintessential summertime, feel-good tune.  The 
Rivieras continue to entertain crowds both regionally and nationally,
providing the ultimate party soundtrack for any gathering.  Original 
members Marty Fortson (vocals and rhythm guitar), Otto Nuss 
(keyboards), and Doug Gean (bass) are joined by drummer Randy Sharkey
and guitarist Dave Sanders to continue the Rivieras' tradition.
