What happens when one surrenders themselves over to Jesus Christ

The more a person has surrendered his life to Jesus Christ, the greater will be the Holy Spirit's ability to help, guide, and influence that person on a daily basis. The greater the surrender, the greater the activity of the Holy Spirit will be in the believer's life. And the main job of the Holy Spirit is as a helper. One who gives guidance to the believer so the believer is able to stay on a Godly spiritual path.

Along with Jesus, it will be the Holy Spirit who will be there when you are faced with a problem or a decision that needs to be made that has a number of possible solutions? It is the Holy Spirit that will show you how to react in a certain situation. He will help and guide you when you are trying to decide what road to take when several different roads lay in front of you? The Holy Spirit along with the Son of God will help you to determine which one of these is the right one.

It is the Holy Spirit who teaches us, guides us, and instructs us so that we are soon filled with inner peace and joy. It is the guidance of the Holy Spirit who is going to change your character, your conduct, your personalty, yes your entire life. Who else would God the Father entrust with such an important a task as teaching and guiding believers down through the ages. This mission could only be delegated to one of the persons of the Godhead. And so as Jesus is called the Son of God, the Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of God.

In fact the Word of God calls the Holy Spirit the Spirit of Truth. Look at just a few verses that describes how the Holy Spirit is going to help one who has surrendered his life to God.

John 16:13 "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come."

Ephesians 5:9 "For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth."

John 15:26 "But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me."

1 Peter 1:22 "Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit, in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart."
