Lewis H. Gideon of Itawamba County sold to Nathaniel Farrar of Itawamba County the southwest quarter of Section 8 in Township 11, Range 9 on 4 December 1838 for $600: DB2/030

This indenture made the 10th day of June 1839 between John Gideon of the first part, Wiley Burdine of the second part and H.W. Stegall of the third part ... the said John Gideon is justly indebted to the party of the third part in the sum of $250 ... for and in consideration of the promise and sum of $5 ... the party of the first part has granted unto Wiley Burdine (in trust) the following described property: 4 head of horses, 7 head of cattle, 12 head of sheep, 17 head of hogs ... Itawamba County Marriage Book 1
Covers the earliest recorded marriages of Itawamba County, Mississippi. During the late 1830s and 40s, Itawamba County clergy were required to register with the county. These registrations are found in the marriage books. These items are noted by "testimonial" in these abstracts.
