Charles Hunt apparently had a shop on the Hallsville Road in Canning Town, London, probably in the late 1800's. My great aunt said it was some kind of a pet shop but he also sold rabbits for meat.(This must be the origins of my nan's rabbit stew, one of my favourite meals as a child - served in a white basin with doorsteps of crusty bread. Mmmmmm delicious!) This shop was next to Cribbs the undertakers, and I am still researching this and hoping to find photos in existence.

Later he moved this business to 1 Rathbone Street where he rented some kind of a "yard" on Fox Street, rented first by him and later by his son-in-law, Samuel (my great-grandfather)

The lady who owned it was named Rachel Lee. After his first wife's death, Charlie remarried and took a lady named Alice as his second wife. She already had quite a few children herself, apparently.

Although the address was unknown to us, and we are still trying to find where this street was located, all the names matched and gave us an additional two children Maud and Rose, and the name of Charlie's first wife, Kate,who the eldest daughter was obviously named for.

Mary Ann (known as Polly) married Samuel Poyser
and had five children:
Rose born 9th January 1908, my grandmother.
Ivy,
Lily,
Harry, and
Alice.
