Important note November 17, 2003 - It has come to our attention that unsolicited commercial e-mail (a.k.a. spam) is being sent to people, with a return address of @russianblue.com. However, russianblue.com has never and will never send unsolicited e-mails. The current e-mails making the rounds that are using a russianblue.com return address are fraudulent and forged (the headers have been manipulated). They are not coming from russianblue.com, which remains a completely non-commercial Web site and domain. Unfortunately, because there are unscrupulous people using the Internet for their own selfish ends, there is little if anything we - the legitimate owners of russianblue.com - can do about this situation. Although we are not responsible, we apologize for any inconvenience - and are irate that the name russianblue.com has been used in this despicable way.

We at RussianBlue.com were profoundly saddened to learn recently of the passing of Ingeborg Urcia, PhD on May 28, 2003. Ingeborg, a professor of English at Eastern Washington University, was well known to the international community of cat fanciers and to people who love Russian Blue cats, in particular. In addition to producing many special kittens over the years at her Katzenburg Cattery in Cheney, Washington, USA, Ingeborg wrote the definitive book on the subject of Russian Blue cats (see below). Please click on the book cover to take you to a page at Amazon.com where Deirdre Devereux, a friend of Ingeborg's, has written a brief reminiscence of her. We are preparing a more complete acknowledgement of the life of Ingeborg Urcia - a truly remarkable woman - to be posted here soon. If you have any memories or information about Ingeborg that you would like to share, please send an e-mail to topcat@russianblue.com
