You have reached the homepage of the Rusty Nation. The Rusty Nation is a non-profit organization dedicated to spreading the good news about Texas Rangers leftfielder Rusty Greer. As the president, it is my goal to keep you informed about all the goings-on in the career of Rusty. Unfortunately, it seems that the rest of the Rusty Nation has disbanded, as I can not reach them by e-mail. Oh well. When I figure out the rest of the new officers, I will add them to this site.

New Page: Rusty has actually gotten some national press over the last week or so. ESPN quoted him in two features on the Rangers, the preview and the ARod fallout. You can find Rusty's quotes here.

Latest update: Over the weekend, Rusty agreed to a three-year contract extension worth at least $21.8 million. With incentives, Rusty could earn as much as $29 million. The extension is for the years 2002-2004, and if the Rangers exercise an option for 2005, he could earn $36 million over the four years. Of the contract, Rusty could only say "the biggest thing is to stay in a Texas Rangers uniform," according to The Boston Globe.

Thought of the day: To those who sign my guestbook with references to Arlington-area landmarks: I've been to Texas three times in my entire life. I've been to the Dallas area twice, and the first time I was seven years old and hated baseball. Therefore, if you mention something in Grapevine, Dallas (besides Deep Ellum, where I think I've been, and the JFK museum) or even Arlington, I am most likely beyond clueless as to what you're talking about!
