Gateway named Gary the Vice President of Global Human Resources in December 1998. He will have human resource responsibility for Strategy and New Ventures, Marketing, Product Development and Management, Information Technology, Manufacturing, Client Care, Finance, and the company's administration functions. Gary will also coordinate HR activities for the international regions. Gary joined Gateway in 1996 and was most recently Director of Human Resources for Gateway Country, where he was responsible for all human resource functions in support of the expansion of Gateway Country. Previously, he served as Director of Human Resources, Corporate Staffs. Prior to joining Gateway, Gary was Manager of U.S. Compensation-Corporate at Abbott Laboratories. He also held human resource positions at Magnavox Electronic Systems Company and Blue Cross & Blue Shield. Gary earned a bachelor of business administration from Michigan State University and a master's of science in business administration from Saint Francis College, Fort Wayne, Ind.
