Welcome to the "Museum" as
I jokingly call it. As analog is getting pretty much obsolete, radio stations
trash their analog gear, replace it with computers and little else. Fine with
me, as everything here in my studio (or most of it) was orphaned from a radio
station looking for a home. As one who worked playing carts on air and most of
this gear professionally, and now i'm out of the business, It's a great souvenir
to play with and a nice way to preserve a different time of the broadcast industry,
when people were hands on 24/7, playing records, carts, reels, etc. We still have
the PC here, recording in digital, and I also do transfers from analog. It keeps
me out of trouble, and my wife still loves me with all this stuff in the house
(can you say true love?)
I can handle vinyl/acetate discs (up
to 16 inch transcriptions, and speeds 33, 45, 78) tape (broadcast cart, cassette
reel-3.75 to 15 ips, 1/4 and 1/2 track-stereo/mono 1/4 inch) and digital media
playback (CD/Minidisc/DAT) and playback/record through analog inputs (CD/Minidisc).
pretty much anything with a analog line output I can jack in. This studio is also used to create the funky world of CHEEZE PLEEZE The weekly half hour or so salute to cheezy music. CLICK HERE To find our more.
