ROY ROBERTS (the alternate Frank Stephens)

Roy Roberts, Darrin's other pop, was born on March 19, 1900, in Tampa, Florida, and passed away on May 28, 1975. Roberts played John Gushing from 1964 to 1967 on The Beverly Hillbillies, Harrison Cheever on The Lucy Show from 1965 to 1968, and Mr. Bodine on Gunsmoke from 1965 to 1975.

Before his appearance on Bewitched, he was Captain Huxley on The Gale Storm Show from 1956 to 1960 and Norman Curtis on Petticoat Junction from 1963 to 1964. Sometime later, on November 2, 1967, Roberts made his first of thirteen appearances as one of Darrin's two dads.

Roberts's film highlights include The Sullivans (1944), It Shouldn't Happen to a Dog (1946, the title of which was also used for an episode of Bewitched), It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World and Hotel (1967).
