Fan's Comments on Mike Piazza & Other Players
"I just wanted to let you know that I like your Mike Piazza info website. I'm a big fan and I'm glad to see someone takes the time to put up a website like yours." -Anonymous
"One thing I have to say in Griffey's favor is
he signs for everyone, and looks like an easy
going guy. Turk Wendell, was a really great
guy, he goes out of his way to sign and talk
with the fans…He actually talks with you
like he knows you for 10 years, and he's a
really great guy. I pray to God that he
does really well, he deserves it." -
"If you pay the average guy half of what some
of these guys make, they would stand outside
the stadium and sign for 'Every single person'
who wants an autograph." -
"Turk Wendell, it seems that he understands that fans go along way to
meet them and hopefully get an autograph...Then you get the player like
Turk, who not only signs for you but asks you where
your from, how's your day going and did you enjoy
the game." -
"...and to think how we pay their salary...
well I really wonder what would happen if
everyone was turned off by this 'attitude' and
never went to a game...all these guys would have
to get a real job and work for a living."

The thing that really shocked me the most was John Franco's attitude. For the first time he stayed away from ALL
the fans and was not observed signing one autograph! I know that we all have our days, but he seemed to display an attitude towards the fans as a disgruntled player. This was especially hurting, due to the fact that we both went to the same high school in New York (Lafayette) although I graduated 10 years earlier. I read in the paper about his new contract and that he
was holding out for more play time (not more money). Anyway, it was quite disturbing knowing that he was taking
out his frustrations on the fans that cheer him on over the years.

Many speak of his talent, and often tack on the
fact that "He seems to be a real gentleman." That
is probably what I like about him the most. I root
for him as if he were my son. I'm proud of the
way he carries himself.....does his job well...and
never hotdogs, as so many of our athletes do. I
wish they would watch him and learn how to behave.
Oddly enough, I think the Met players have learned
behavior from Mike. There is no one on the Mets that
can be considered a hotdog. -Bill Dyer
I totally agree with what you said in "My Opinions
About Mike Piazza". Your right, we, as fans, don't
need to know all about his personal life. The media
has told us so many things about so-and-so's personal
life and who they're going out with so many times that
it seems like we need to know when we don't. If the
star wanted us to know, they would write a biography.
But yes, Piazza does add that needed offense and
defense that the Mets need. -Michelle Brundrett
I was very disappointed in the series. The offensive
spark just wasn't there. The Mets seemed to depend
on the big hit, instead of building a run when the
opportunity presented itself. I thought the teams
were very closely matched. I think the failure
of the Mets in the series can be laid at the feet
of Bobby Valentine. I have heard the argument that the
manager can hit the ball and score the runs,
but neither could Joe Torre. Bobby Valentine
never, at anytime during the series, showed any
agression. He waited for things to happen,
instead of making them happen.
Mike's last at bat...and the final out....did
make my heart leap for split
second. I was particular proud of the way he
handles the disgusting behavior displayed by Clemens.
