Shea Stadium's Ground Rules
If a ball rolls under
any part of the stands and stays out of sight on a throw by the pitcher, while he is on
the rubber, the runner is awarded one base; on a throw by an infielder, two bases.
A ball that hits the
side of the facing dugout is considered in the dugout.
If a ball goes into
the dugout on a throw by the pitcher while he is on the rubber, therunner is awarded one
base; on a throw from the field, two bases.
If a fair ball
bounces over the fence, the runner is awarded two bases.
If a fair ball
bounces over a temporary fence in foul territory in left and right field, the runner is
awarded two bases.
