        An on-line accounts maintenance system developed in SYBASE 4.2 and

   Description     :
        An on-line disbursements system for Cash Management products for
        Citibank developed in SYBASE 10, APT, JAM, C DB Library and
        PowerBuilder front-end. The system supports local languages and
        is live in 10 countries. Was associated with the project right
        from design till implementation. Developed a major part of the
        front-end using PowerBuilder 3.0a. Wrote some DLLs using Windows
        SDK for :
           - Transferring files to back-end using FTP (Novell Lan WorkPlace
             socket, TCP/IP library)
           - Printing checks to satisfy high speed requirements. It
             downloads compressed data from back-end, explodes and prints
             checks. It can print bitmaps also.
           - Encrypting passwords using DES algorithm.
           - Translating huge files from one format to another.

        These DLLs are called from PowerScript. Important PowerBuilder
        developements consist of a Check Mask Painter having similar look
        and feel of a DataWindow painter.

        The front-end was later migrated to PowerBuilder 4.0.

        An infrastructure application meant to make platform dependent
        applications create user interface in a platform independent
        manner. Currently the system supports only web-based applications
        but will be enhanced for other applications shortly.
        The system is developed on Windows NT 4.0 using MS Visual C++ 5.0
        and Visual Basic 5.0. The system uses COM/OLE extensively to
        incorporate modularity and maintainability. It works in conjunction
        with IIS 4.0. My role was designing and developing some components
        and writing test applications for overall testing of the
        infrastructure.

   Description     :
        An infrstructure application meant to web-enable some platform
        dependent applications. A live one-to-one video conferencing is the
        key feature of this application. A customer on a kiosk can be served
        by a Customer Service Representative (CSR) thus eliminating the need
        of personal bankers. The system uses a call center for load balancing
        on CSRs. All hardware components on customer-kiosk can be operated
        by CSR by a simple interface. The final goal of the application is
        to reach people at home with on-line personal service making banking
        easier and faster. My role involves writing ActiveX controls for
        controlling devices on customer's side remotely and for coordinating
        and synchronizing applications running on customer's and CSR's sides.


SELF LEARNING      :

X Windows - Wrote several Widgets (compatible with Athena library) including
---------   DragDrop, DiretoryTree, Table, ProgressBar, Canvas, HyperText,
etc. Developed a File Manager using these widgets. Wrote an FTP client also.

TCP/IP    - Wrote a class having all the most frequently used properties
------      and methods for a TCP/IP connection. Developed a host of
programs using this class, including a talk program (our UNIX machine didn't
have this), a conferencing program, an SMTP client, an FTP client as
mentioned before, an rexec DLL which can be used from PowerBuilder, etc.

JAVA      - Wrote a game of Bricks.
