Welcome to our
Old Collegians website on the world wide web. This homepage was
set up in July 1997 for the purpose of providing a convenient and
interactive avenue of communication for ex-students of Mount
Scopus Memorial College, in Victoria, Australia. Please take
advantage of the Email Index & check back often for upcoming
events & reunion details. And, of course, don't forget to
tell all your mates about this site, & email any interesting
photos you want posted on the page.
Mount Scopus College began in 1949 at its first site in St.Kilda Road, Melbourne, Victoria, with 153 students. In 1960 the school moved to its current location in Burwood, Victoria.
It was established principally by Jews who had fled the horrors of the Holocaust in Europe in World War II.They saw the need to teach all Jewish children their heritage, giving them a strong Jewish identity along with a broad general education. Ever since, Mount Scopus College (affectionately known as 'Scopus') has been renowned for its excellent Jewish and secular education and its outstanding facilities.

The Old Collegians regular newsletter, 'KaleidoScope' gets sent out every now and again. If you live in Australia and do not receive a copy, please email dstones@scopus.vic.edu.au to put yourself on the mailing list. If you live overseas and have not been receiving it regularly, do the same. It's good reading and keeps you up to date. It is a concise overview of school activities, and includes plenty of news about old collegians.

The school website is finally up and running, after being non-existent for over 4 years. Check it out at http://www.scopus.vic.edu.au .
It also has a new feature - an 'Old Collegians Alumni Directory'. Take a look. It's great.
And, if they ever get their act together (we've only been asking for 5 years), they'll put a link to this site so that 1000's of other old collegians can get information about all the reunions going on!
