In about the sixth century a monk, St. Mungo, founded the city of Glasgow. Although it is not the capital city of Scotland it is the largest city with 700,000 people. It has been named the 'Cultural City' of the world. The Queen Mary and QE2 ships were built in Glasgow since it is a leading city in the industry of steel. Glasgow is home to 35 museums and galleries as well as many other art and culture groups.
