The Lecture Game
a.k.a. Fantasy Lecture League

The lecture game is a game for three or more players. One of the participating players takes the role of 'scorer' and is in charge of monitoring the activities of the other players. The remaining players will then try to rack up points by performing various tasks during the course of a designated lecture. After a predefined number of lectures each players points are added up to find a winner.

Scoring for the lecture game is as follows :

Asking a question that the lecturer answers 1 Point
Asking the lecturer their name 2 Points
Asking a question that the lecturer cannot answer 2 Points
Asking a question totally unrelated to the lecture 3 Points
Leaving the room and then returning again 2 Points
Having a coughing fit 1 Point
Pretending to have hiccups 3 Points
Leaning back on a chair and falling over 5 Points
Throwing a paper airplane at someone else
(lecturer must not see for you to get the points)
2 Points
Throwing a rolled up piece of paper at someone else
(the lecturer must not see again)
1 Point
Slurping your drink loudly 2 Points
Blowing your nose 1 Point
Eating a packet of crisps 1 Point
Tapping a tune on your desk leg 2 Points
Humming a tune 2 Points
Opening a window 1 Point
Getting the lecturer to turn on/off lights 2 Points
Contradicting the lecturer 1 Point
Snoring 3 Points
The lecture throws something at you while you are snoring -4 Points
Mentioning "Advanced Soil Mechanics"
(this must be in a loud voice)
1 Point *
Getting the lecturer to mention "Advanced Soil Mechanics" 4 Points *
Getting thrown out of lecture -10 Points
Getting told off by lecturer -5 Points
Showing these rules to the lecturer 5 Points
Making the lecturer laugh 1 Point
The lecturer makes people laugh at you -1 Point
Blatantly yawning 1 Point
Asking for an OHP to be put in focus (when it already is) 3 Points
Standing up and sitting down again 1 Point
Being involved in a Mexican wave (3 people min.) 2 Points
Telling the lecturer their flies are undone 4 Points
Having an argument with the person next to you 3 Points
Wearing sun glasses for the WHOLE lecture 2 Points
Turning up to lecture in a dress or skirt (MEN ONLY) 3 Points
Turning up to lecture in a swimming costume 10 Points
Walking behind the lecturer who is giving the lecture (Lecturer must be at the front) 2 Points
Walking in front of the lecturer who is giving the lecture (Lecturer must be at the front) 3 Points
Burping loudly 1 Point
Making a watches tune alarm go off 1 Point
Passing the lecturer a note (any contents) 2 Points

The early bird catches the worm, or in the case of the lecture game, has an opportunity for some bonus points. The following rules exist for students who like to plan in advance.

Rearranging all chairs to face the wrong way in the lecture room 5 Points
Sabotaging OHP before lecture to stop it working 2 Points
Replacing all the white board pens with permanent markers (the lecturer must use the pens) 5 Points
Handcuffing yourself to the lecturers desk or podium, before the lecture and then explaining to the lecturer you have no key 10 Points
Hide under the lecturers desk/podium for the entire lecture 10 Points
Leaving an apple for the lecturer before the lecture 1 Point
Having the lecturer take a bite out of the above apple 3 Points

Optional rules:

The task rule: At the start of each lecture every player is randomly given three of the above tasks to perform. If the player performs all of these tasks during the course of that given lecture they are awarded a bonus of 10 points. Note the tasks with negative points should not be considered for inclusion in the list of tasks.
