With a mind and will of her own both on screen and off, Katharine Hepburn has become a role model to women worldwide.

Katharine Houghton Hepburn was the second child of a successful Connecticut physician and his suffragette wife, Hepburn led a remarkably unrestricted life. However, the defining experience of her youth was the death of her older, revered brother, presumably a suicide.

Hepburn found solace in the stage before eventually making her way to Hollywood. There she starred in Morning Glory, winning the first of her four Academy Awards and launching a film career that was plagued by huge ups and downs in popularity. It was the unique interplay of her public and private personas that made Katharine Hepburn a performer unlike any other. Graduated from Bryn Mawr College, Bryn Mawr, PA in 1928, with a BA in Drama



Also known for her romance with the great actor, Spencer Tracy. Who she costarred with in numerous movies, including "Woman of the Year," and "Adam's Rib."

She is still very much alive, now in her 90's and retired to Connecticut, truly a living legend.
