A VOLUNTEER DISASTER RESPONSE GROUP

The IMPACT Disaster Response unit is a group of volunteers who donate their time to assist local communities, public service agencies, and organiziations with disaster communications, disaster services, disaster and emergency planning and disaster preparedness. IMPACT itself stands for "Integrated Mobile Public Assistance Communications Team". The Unit specializes in providing additional communications to agencies during or after a disaster or emergency by utilizing many different types of communications equipment. Some of these include GMRS, Amateur Radio, Cellular, CB, FRS and various other VHF/UHF commercial bands.

The IMPACT unit can also provide communications and Health and Welfare services at public events like parades, marathons, bike races, carnivals, and more.

All IMPACT Disaster Response Unit members are highly trained in first-aid/CPR, basic search & rescue, evacuation operations, disaster prepardness, and disaster response.


Functions Of the IMPACT Disaster Response Unit
1. Meet the immediate needs of victims at disaster scenes

2. Set-up and maintain reliable and professional communications as needed.

3. Assist any Public Service agency or city official as needed or requested.
