Arthur tells Jill he's moving in with her mother and they can be one big happy family now.

Or not. Jill seeks Jack's shoulder to cry on and Katherine begins to have doubts.

But Arthur manages to allay their misgivings. Happy Family at last? Only time will tell.


Episode Updade for April 05,06 and April 20,21.

While Kate gets ready for dinner out on the town with Arthur, he announces that he's found something in his closet.

*

He states the box contains what appear to be adult 'toys' and looks a bit dissapointed that that they're not Kate's.

*

Jill's long ago secret is revealed. Dad is not all that surprised and takes it well enough.

Arthur suggests Jill join them for supper, but she doesn't want her mother along and the girls begin to squabble about Arthur in a kind of tug of war for his attentions.

They're behaving like children and it will take the wisdom of Solomon to break it up, so Athur's going to fix them supper himself.

Episode 06 April 2004:

Arthur decides on grilled hot dogs and the girls argue over crystal or cans.

*

This is not the evening any of them had in mind, but Jill decides to pitch in and cook the hot dogs so her parents can have a little time together.

*

While Arthur is scrounging in the house for some condiments, Jill's scarf catches fire, but Kate doesn't know how to handle the hose correctly.

*

Dousing her daughter turns into a reciprical water fight-and unexpected comraderie, especially when Arthur returns.

Ready, aim, fire!.....Victory!

They're acting like a family at last, even if the girls still argue over who's fault everything is.

They're becoming a family...maybe.


Episodes April 20/21

*

Arthur is getting exasperated with the girl's rekindled bickering in the morning; and Kate just has to bring up Jill's burnt eggs....

And coffee.

Dad decides to take Jill out for coffee for a little talk. She's simply glad to have his attention all to herself. But he convinces her she actually has an 'issue' with disliking other women, not just her mother.

Jill follows Dad's advice and wants to try to 'begin again' with her mother. But it won't be easy. For either of them, especially as just as Arthur observed, they actually seem to enjoy the confrontations.

Will Arthur have to rule in favor of a mediator? How long can he keep his own sanity as he referee's? He only wants the whole family he never had...or does he have something else in mind?

Episode-May 06.


Arthur believes it's time to get serious. That a dream can become reality.

Kate agrees to give it a chance, while Jill dispairs over the mere possibility.


And so it begins...or does it?

May 21 Episode

Arthur had expected that the girls had a good time at the mother daughter luncheon, but he's sorry to find otherwise.

*

Jill assures her concerned father that she does have a social life outside 'nursemaiding' her mother and not to worry. What could happen?

Well, we'll see...

Arthur wonders if Kay will still talk to him after he turned his back on her during the Intervention program to help force her to come to terms with her alcholism.

"I love you warts and all. Will you marry me?" he asks.

Jill announces her engagement to Elliott Hampton and Arthur is pleased.

*

Arthur suggests a double wedding but senses something is still disturbing Kay

*

Arthur is hurt and angry that she won't confide in him as to what's been bothering her. He walks away in a huff.

*

Taking Arthur's stepson's warning that Arthur is responsible for killing his mother and her life may be in danger too, Kay hires Paul to do a little investigating.

*

Arthur has been planning a quiet afternoon with Kay, or has he?

*

The warning comes true! Arthur smothers his intended! But,as Kay awakes she realizes she was dreaming her murder.

*

She doesn't tell him what her dream was about and he tells her it's pre-wedding jitters.

*

He doesn't quite buy it himself but she convinces him that he's right. That's what it must be.

*

She seems to be okay, and he quickly goes off on an errand.

*

Kay thinks she's been rather stupid to have wondered about all his stepson's nonsense but Paul comes by with some news...

The plot has been thickening.

Is Arthur's stepson right? Should Kay be worried about whatever Paul has in that manilla envelope? *

Kay and Jill go over the investigation report on the man they both love.

Arthur wants to know what's going on.

*

At first he's angry and hurt that neither his sweetheart or his daugter confided in him their fears.

*

He claims his stepson is a liar as well as a drug addict and is the real cause of his first wife's agonies.

*

His anger grows to a fevered pitch.

*

After he storms out, Jill and Kay are a little scared, and wonder just who the 'real' Arthur is.

Kate decides to go ahead with the wedding,but Jill decides a confrontation between Arthur and his stepson is in order.

Jill arranges a meeting unbeknownst to them.

Needless to say they aren't happy about it.

Tempers flare between both men. Arthur is especially bitter about this old can of worms again.

Arthur has had enough and walks out.

What now?

Kay tells Arthur she wants to set the date.

The happy couple make the announcement, but is that a grin of love or something sinister, Jill wonders.

But Arthur has had enough, as the doubts have lingered too long, and he leaves. And so we say a regretful adieu to Arthur and a heartbroken Kay.
