MURDER RAPE - Celebration of Supreme Evil (Cogumelo Records)
Undoubtly a true underground masterpiece ! Brazilian Cogumelo Records has unleashed one of my favourite underground albums of all time , & it is in the form of - Celebration of Supreme Evil ! Having a play time of some 36 minutes , this album is basically one which hovers more along the slow till mid-tempo pace of melodies . Keyboards are hardly used here & vocal prowess reminds me very much of the typical Blasphemy/Beherit kind of vocals . Anyway moving along , Murder Rape is a four piece consisting of 1 guitar , 1 bass , 1 drum & 1 vocal . It is perhaps to some , your average band next door but the band definitely kicks some serious ass (an all instrumental track with some really good solos can also be found here) . I am not very sure if the band is still in existence or not , but since this was released way back in 94 , I should have perhaps heard of a new album by now ? Anyway , a short note to fans who prefer obscure underground music . This is definitely the one to get . It is neither too boring nor too commercialised .
