Tea Tree

Tea Tree is one of the most popular of the Essential Oils. It has a fresh, sanitary, almost pungent aroma. Like lavender, it would take far too many pages to list all the redeeming qualities that have been associated with this oil. It is said to be an antibiotic, antiseptic, antiviral, bactericide, cicatrizant, expectorant, fungicide, insecticide and sudorific. Along with Lavender, it's just about the only oil that is recommended to be used "neat" which means straight from the bottle without dilution. It is said to have a refreshing, revitalizing effect on the mind, especially after shock. Its most important usage is said to help the immune system fight off infectious diseases. It is said to activate the white corpuscles to form a defense against invading organisms and helps to shorten the duration of illness. It is said to allow the body to sweat toxins out of the body. It is also said to heal cold sores, and gingivitis. massage therapists say a course of massage with this oil before surgery will help to fortify the body. The indians say its strong antiviral and germicidal properties are useful in repeated infections, and that its fungicidal properties help clear vaginal thrush as well as genital infections in general. It is claimed to alleviate urinary tract problems such as cystitis to give relief to genital and anal itching, & itching from chicken pox to rashes caused by insect bites. Said to give some protection against x-ray therapy in breast cancer. It is said to reduce scarring when applied before treatment.
