The Tide is High
By Leah

Bryn grumbled as she walked away from Taryn and Sinbad. Doubar placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry," he said, "He just needs another doss of luck."

"I'm sure," she remarked sarcastically, "Next time there's danger, remind me to throw him at it."

Doubar chuckled, "Are ye going to join the festivities?"

"In a bit," Bryn said, "I'm going to go for a walk on the beach first. Been a rough day and I need to relax."

The crew nodded as she headed towards the beach. As it came into view, her eyes gazed over the ocean. High tide, they would be leaving soon probably. Her thoughts drifted back to Taryn and she grumbled some more. "How can I make him see that the one for him is me?" she sighed. Softly, she began to sing:

The Tide is high but I'm holdin' on,
I'm gonna be your number one.
I'm not the kinda girl who gives up just like that,
oh no

It's not the things you do that tease and hurt me bad,
but it's the way you do the things you do to me,
I'm not the kinda girl who gives up just like that, oh no

The tide is high but I'm holdin' on,
I'm gonna be your number one.
Number one…

Ev'ry girl wants you to be her man, but I'll wait my dear, till it's my turn,
I'm not the kinda girl who gives up just like that, oh no
The tide is high but I'm holdin' on, I'm gonna be your number one.

The tide is high but I'm holdin' on,
I'm gonna be your number one
I'm not the kinda girl who give up just like that
Oh no!

Bryn sighed as she got to the beach and sat down, but then she started to smile in spite of herself. After all, she lived with him, and those girls didn't. They didn't know him the way she did. Her turn would come, and after that, no one else's ever would.
