SPRING FERVOR
by: Pauline K Vick
I woke up early one morning
And found in my heart it was spring.
For I felt the signs of it's fervor,
The urge to change everything.
I opened the doors and windows
That were closed so long in my heart.
I knew it was now or never,
So this was the day to start.
I dusted the nooks and cranies
That had gathered with gloom and dispair.
And suddenly felt much better
As I breathed the new spring air.
I moved all my ill-harbored feelings,
As I needed the room to store
Only God's heavenly sunshine
As I opened wide the door.
Now I could see the new flowers,
Now I could hear the birds sing.
But most of all I could welcome
My God like the first day of spring.
