PROJECT CRUIZMISSLE
Here it is folks! An original '59 Oldsmobile 98 4dr sedan. Not for long!! This battleship is finally on it's way to being a cool 60's style custom. I've shaved the chrome from the sides as well as the chrome on top of the front fenders and all the way to the tail lights. Gone is the hood emblem as well as the rocker moldings and stock antenna. Also gone are the ugly 70's wheel covers. In their place on new 15" whitewall radials is a set of '55 Cadillac wheel covers. The Cadillac medallion in the center will be covered by a chrome bullet for an extra cool look. The grille will also house aproximately 30-35 1" chrome bullets set into the original stainless mesh. Plans also include shaved door handles, molded hood seams, flush fit rear bumper, lake pipes, dual Smithy's exhaust, flame throwers, sever lowering, and black primer with tons of blue and purple primered flames! Oh yea, and removal of the top!! That will have to wait until spring so I can cruise while building the white padded carson style lift off top. After running it in primer for the summer, I'll finish up the bodywork and lay the paint. The paint will be two tone purple and orchid metallic with alternating 60's style scallops. Interior which is currently blue velour will eventually end up white naugahyde tuck~n~roll with purple welting. As soon as money permits!! As we go along I'll keep adding pictures and progress reports so please check back often.
