BRIEF GENERAL SUMMARY:

Wolves live in groups called packs. They howl to keep in touch with each other to warn rival packs to keep away. A pack has a strict social order, and wolves use special body positions to signal their rank within the group. A high-ranking wolf snarls and stares at another wolf, keeping its ears and tail up in the air. A low-ranking wolf lies on its back with its ears pulled back and its tail between its legs.
