In this section, you'll find information and links to some of the organizations I support (or ones I just think are pretty cool).

Amnesty International
I'm in the process of starting a group of Amnesty International at my high school, which will start up next September.  Amnesty International is an organization which works:

  • To free all prisoners of conscience (people detained because of their beliefs or because of their ethnic origin, sex, color, language, national or social origin, economic status, birth, or other status who have not used or advocated violence)
  • Ensure fair and prompt trials for all political prisoners (a political prisoner is anyone whose imprisonment is politically motivated)
  • Abolish the death penalty, torture and other ill-treatment of prisoners
  • End political killings and "disappearances"
  • Promote, through education and action, greater understanding and respect for human rights.

Unitarian Universalist Association
This is the UUA's website, the organization for my church.  It's a great place to surf around and find out about Unitarian Universalism.

The Hunger Site and The Rainforest Site
If you go to either of these sites, all you have to do is click on a button and you'll donate food or square feet of rainforest respectively -- for free.  Sponsors pay to get their ads on the site when you click, but you don't have to click to give.  This is a quick and easy way to make a difference, and with a look at their statistics, you'll see that you really do.

Ontario Consultants on Religious Tolerance
This is an interesting site that is a gold mine of information on various religions and religious viewpoints on current issues.  Guaranteed to keep you busy for a while, and written in a reader-friendly style.  This site tries (and for the most part succeeds) in presenting all sides of the issues equally and fairly.
