Most people ask, "What do they eat?" Well, Spike is a vegetarian and eats mostly greens; he loves radish tops and raw broccoli. He'll eat anything green and even tries to get the silk ivy leaves on his branch (he doesn't eat them, just leaves them thrown about the cage). He also eats fruit and mealworms and loves monkeychow, soaked in warm water (a special treat once in a while). He's picky and does not like crickets. Savannah is a carnivore; she eats crickets, fuzzy mice, and pinkie rats. Although she can eat mealworms, she's picky and won't, but will watch them wiggle in front of her. She's very entertaining to watch, but not fun to hold, as she has a bad temper, and has mistaken fingers for pinkie mice. She's 2 years old now! Spike is fairly tame, and likes to come outside for a ride on my shoulder or head (more often on my head, and I don't argue with him about it!). Happy Birthday to Spike! He was 7 years old in August.

Update: Savannah died in November of 1998 just after the move to our new house. I couldn't bear to update this site until now.

Send any questions or comments to me, and I'll try to answer them here or in e-mail.
