A LIGHT OF ILLUSION AFTER SHE LEFT FOR THE DARK

Like a bird in the night
She will fly through your mind,
sending you through black and white,
almost leaving you color-blind.
But in due time
she will pull you back
into the world
you know as color.
And you will think
you will see her
while your images are red.
and you think you will need her
even though you know
she is dead.
And you will dream in black and in white,
and see her enter your dream in superimposed color.
Again you will ask her-
what is blue and what is green?
And again she will tell you
color is what it seems.
do you feel black and white?
It is then you will know
there is no color
or illusion in the night.
This time you are not filled with regret
that red, blue and green are not colors,
but rather, are just illusions of light.
