Angel is a former "death row" dog. She was at a shelter that is not a no-kill shelter. The people that worked there didn't have the heart to destroy her so they bought her time by continually changing her papers. I have a nephew with some problems, one being bi-polar. He was kind of shutting himself off and I had the idea that just maybe a friend could help him. It happend to be his birthday in a few days so I had this plan. I went over to his home and started putting a fence up. When he asked why I just said it was to keep his aunts dog in the yard. He ended up helping me finish the fence. A couple of days later I made a trip to a couple of shelters trying to find a special friend. I walked into the shelter where Angel was and I knew this was going to be the one. Here was this beautiful black setter/collie mix. She had the most gentle look about her. She stared into my eyes and I knew she could reach my nephew. The wonderful ladies working at the shelter were so happy..yelling to one another that Angel was finally going to have a home. That is when they told us they had been saving her. My sister and I brought her home and prepared to suprise my Nephew with her. The look on his face said it all. He ran to hug her and dropped to his knees crying. She knew she belonged to him right off the bat. She has slept right by or under his bed everynight since..She is his Angel.
