This is my page! This page, anything on it or subsiquent pages, or
any links you might visit from here are not afilliated with Abate of
Iowa nor Abate of Iowa District #14. This is just some of my pesonal junk thrown out there for anyone who cares to take the time to look at it.
Two of my most prized possesion's!
My daughter Amer Dawn and my '51 Pan/Shovel. In the background is my first Harley,a'69 kick only iron head Sportster. I have since sold it to a guy who probably cuss' it as much as I did. With an SU carb & a magneto ignition she could be a little tempermental. Much the same as Amber. Much the same as ex-wives. Much the same as women. Much the same as people in general. Amber is in her teens going on her 30's. The '51 is really a heinz '57. What started out as '51 has morphed into mostly a mid-70's glide. I bought her at a "dealership" in Ames, Iowa. Nine months later, Tom White, at Soap Creek Cycles had to completely rebuild the motor. Draw your own conclusion's. But since then, she has served me faithfully including an Iron Butt Ride and everything an Iowa winter can throw at her. Yeah, I ride her year 'round. The best way to winterize a Harley is to ride it. (Thanx Iron Horse Magazine) Go to the next page for another pic of Amber.
