Who We Are

We are the South Side Muskie Hawks, one of the chapters of Muskies, Inc., the national muskie fishing organization. At about 250 members, the South Side Muskie Hawks is one of the largest chapters of this 6,000-plus national organization. For more information about Muskies, Inc., please click here.


Meeting Information

Regular meetings of the South Side Muskie Hawks take place eleven times a year, except for July. Meetings start at 7:30 p.m. and are held on the third Wednesday of each month at Mama Luigi's Restaurant, 7500 S. Harlem Ave., Bridgeview, Illinois.
     All of our meetings feature a speaker, member fishing reports, and a monthly raffle. The $1.00 donation for admission for members and $3.00 for guests gives everyone a chance to win a door prize. NOTE: For some special meetings the donation for admission will be increased.
     All club members attending the meeting will have a chance to win an additional door prize that will increase $25 per month if the winning club member is not present at the meeting. If no member has won the prize by the December meeting, it will be awarded at that meeting to one of the club members who are present at that meeting.
     In addition we have a yearly fishing contest that is open to all members. Not only do we award prizes for muskies, but we also honor those club members who catch big largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, and walleye.
     Meetings of the South Side Muskie Hawks are smoke-free, though smoking is permitted outside the meeting hall.

Become a Member

To become a member of the South Side Muskie Hawks, one must become a member of Muskies, Inc. Yearly membership rates are $30 for an individual, $15 for a junior membership (under 18 years of age), and $42.50 for a family membership (including spouse and children.) Multiple year and lifetime memberships are also available.

We want all members of our chapter to go fishing. If you have an idea for a fishing outing or just want to go fishing with someone, don't hesitate place a free ad in The Reel News, the club newsletter by contact the newsletter's editor, Jon Kartman; speak up at our regular monthly meetings; or by any other way you feel appropriate.
