ONCE ENOUGH

There is a cold wind blowing,

in my heart tonight.

It's chill reaches deep into my soul.

Down from the mountains of your freezing depths,

Where my fate knows no worldly goals.

 I long for the summer breezes of peace,

with subtle winds to reawaken my soul.

Where life could be a gentle springtime shower of joy,

Where the heart felt no need to be controlled.

 Be that, a caress to my being,

should never again be felt.

I have felt, and that may be enough.

For never again is the longest of time,

but then, just once, may have been, once.. enough...
