-Mrs. Cassie CHADWICK has entered upon her ten years service in the penitentiary at Columbus, Ohio, for her conspiracy which wrecked the Citizen's National bank at Oberlin, Ohio. Her glory has departed and her future, oblivion. (18 Jan 1906)

MICHELSON has sold his interest in the Central Hotel to his father and will retire from the hotel business, though he will continue the saloon part until spring, but does not anticipate giving it his personal attention much of the time, as he will seek a new field of labor. the Hotel will be run by his Uncle, Peter MICHELSON, who has lately moved here. The patrons of the house will lose nothing by the change. (18 Jan 1906)

-We note the following business changes in the village this week, Silas BODY has taken possession of the south side grocery store, which he bought of W. LOVE. He is putting in a first class stock and we predict success for his enterprise. Simon CIVERA succeeds N. P. MICHELSON as landlord in the Manistee House and J. LaBEEF succeeds, McMAHON in the McKAY house. We hear that MICHELSON will go to Nellsville, the new town of Michelson & Sons Lumber Co., while McMAHON remains in Grayling. (3 Jun 1909)

-Mrs. Hattie SCHREIBER returned from Otter Lake, Sunday morning, where she was called two weeks ago by the serious illness of her mother's father, who died last week. -F. S. BURGESS of this village, and Mrs. Julia INGLIS of Frederic, were called to Groveland, Oakland county, yesterday, on account of the sudden death of their father, Mr. R. E. BURGESS at his home, where he had lived nearly all his life of 76 years. The deceased was recognized of a man of sterling integrity, and will be long remembered by the community as a potent factor for the general good. (25 Jan 1906)
