SSS guard shot dead By JOEL E. CAPUNDAN ROXAS CITY -- A security guard on duty was found dead Saturday morning inside the office of the Social Security System (SSS) at Plaridel Street this city. Found dead was Eliseo Sampong, legal age, a security guard on duty and resident of Barangay Daga, Cadiz City. Sampong suffered a fatal gunshot wound in his head resulting to his instant death inflected by a .38 revolver used by still unidentified suspects. Initial investigation of the Roxas City PNP Office
revealed that the suspects used the service firearm of
the victim in killing him inside the office while
sleeping. It was learned that the .38 revolver of the
victim was missing when found dead. Police added that witnesses informed that after an explosion they also heard a woman shout, then a tricycle leaving the place believed to be the getaway vehicle of the suspects. Recoveries from the scene of incident were several empty bottles of beer, slippers and other personal belongings of the suspects, believed to be known to the victim since they were having a drinking spree before the incident. Two security guards and one utility worker were picked up by the police to undergo finger printing examination at the PNP Crime Laboratory in Iloilo City to determine whether they are involved or not in the killing of their companion.
