Bamboo dealer killed

PANITAN, Capiz - A bamboo dealer was stabbed to death while his companion was able to escape when an unidentified suspect waylaid them along the highway this town, some 20 kilometers from Roxas City.

The victim was identified as a certain Nono Dumolong, legal age and resident of Banggaan, Panitan, Capiz.

Dumolong suffered multiple fatal stab wounds in different parts of his body resulting to his instant death.

He was rushed at the Roxas Provincial Memorial Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by attending physician.

The companion of the victim remained unidentified.

The incident occurred last Thursday when the victim and his companion came from Roxas City to deliver bamboo.

On their way home, the tricycle they were riding got into engine trouble prompting them to walk towards the terminal.

Along the highway, they meet with unidentified suspect who was having an opposite direction. Without provocation, the suspect stabbed the victim.

Sensing that the victim was stabbed by the suspect, his companion ran for his life and shouted for help from the nearby houses along the highway of the said place.

He was spared by the suspect and later brought the victim to the said hospital.

The Panitan PNP station are still conducting a manhunt operation to arrest the suspect who is still at large as of press time.
